This Montesa Cappra 250 was the last restoration undertaken by Aussie Montesa legend, Lyall O’Brien, before he passed away a few years ago. I saw the bike in person at Classic Dirt 4, not long after it had been completed, and it was a stunner – in other words up to Lyall’s very high standards as usual. It took a while to get the photos of the bike from Tony Herbert, on behalf of Graham Dawe, and then the CD with the pics got what you might call ‘lost’ for a wee while.
