Meet Gary Flood on Friday August 1
We are thrilled to announce that Australian motocross legend Gary Flood will be making an appearance at our VMX Magazine Classic Dirt 18. Gary will be around most of Friday and will be interviewed by another Aussie legend, Stephen Gall, at 5-6pm on Friday 1 August 2025.
Gary played a massive part in the sport in the early ‘70s and was part of a very high-achieving family along with brother Trevor and dad Bert. Gary won multiple motocross championships in 125cc, 250cc and 500cc classes, including his first Australian Championship, in all three capacities, in 1969 at the youthful age of seventeen.
He went over to the UK in ’70 and ’71, competing on a Bultaco, came back to Oz to compete in more motocross events, then went back to the UK in ’72 to compete in a different discipline Speedway! Back in Australia he won more motocross titles in 1974 and took out the Mr Motocross title in 1975.
Make sure you’re in front of the shed where the Magoo Bar is located, from 5pm on Friday 1 August 2025 to hear all about Gary’s fantastic career.
Stay upright rare bike display
One of our sponsors from Stay Upright, Warwick Schuberg will be bringing in 4 rare bikes from his collection from The Museum at Amaroo Park to showcase at this event. This exhibit will be available for one day only. Warwick understands that not everyone can get to his museum due to geographical constraints so this is an opportunity not to miss. Warwick will be available to answer your questions and a donation tin will be made available if you are so inclined. All donations go to Homicide Victim’s Support Group.
